October 07, 2008: I bought Architecto for my kids. They opened the box and immediately started playing the game together. How refreshing not to have to go out and buy batteries, install a program or read a whole booklet of instructions before playing! The geometric shapes/building blocks are very well made. The high quality means the structures not only look like the diagrams, but are also to scale. Every sturcture my kids completed, stood exactly like the one pictured in the booklet. It may be obvious to say, but this game really strenghthens perceptive skills. I've even noticed that their drawings are getting better and more subtle. Archtiecto also has a long playing life since the blocks can be used for creative free form play as well for solving the included puzzles. This game will not sit on your shelf!

October 27, 2007: How often do we get to build things nowadays? The goal of this game is to build a 3-D shape given a set of different-shaped blocks. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Well ... the first few shapes are pretty straight forward, BUT don't get too complacent! The difficulty ramps up and before you know it, you are working on the same puzzle for a good 20-30 minutes. By the way, as you struggle, watch your kids speed right past you! I loved this game because it levels the playing field between parents and kids, people with lots of mathematics background and those with none. Whether you play alone or with a group of friends (as the other reviewer mentioned), everyone has fun and everyone gets a mental workout. This is certainly one of my favorite games!
