Description

For the first time, Scrabble players have control of their own board!

In this new edition of the classic game, players build words on their boards simultaneously! After each round, players have the option to choose a replacement letter from the bag or select one of the face-up tiles on the prize tile podium. Another new feature is the wild tile. Each time a wild tile is played, the player who utilizes the tile must swap boards with an opponent, thwarting his strategy. The game ends when all tiles are in use and the final word has been played.

The most innovative and fun way to play Scrabble since the original!

Contents: 4 Individual Scrabble boards, 4 wood letter racks, 100 wood letter tiles, Prize Tile Podium, cloth drawstring bag and instructions.

For ages 8 and up

Players: 2 to 4

A Nice Twistby grannyfranny

Reader Rating:

March 09, 2009: I am a word game lover. I am now a grandma who likes playing board games and bonding with our grandkids. Scrabble Me gives most ages the feeling like they can do good and yet it's not babyish for the skilled Scrabble player. It takes less time and we enjoy the twist in that each player has their own board and sometimes change boards. I highly recommend for family fun.

February 09, 2009: The Scrabble Me is an interesting twist on the old favorite. We purchased it thinking it would facilitate our grand son's participation. I'm not sure this game is the answer for a third grader.

For the ardent Scrabble player with a cadre of like minded friends this game is "interesting". If you play your small individual board, the game will be utterly stifling and frustrating. The only saving grace is the new rule that lets you switch boards with an opponent under some limited circunstances. If you're into cut-throat Scrabble and have more than two players, this game may provide a unique twist.

If however, you are a casual player I doubt this game is for you. With two players, we ran out of usable board space long before the tiles ran out. The boards were cramped before the game was half way done.

This one will be located on the back of the shelf or regifted to Scrabble maniac friends.
