March 22, 2009: I worked the Beatles White Album puzzle over the Christmas holidays. I kept thinking it is so white! I logged in my time and the number of pieces I found at each sitting. This 500 piece puzzle took me 23 hours and 32 minutes to complete. In my defense, I am a wife and mother. So hours and hours of pure undisturbed time was out of the question. I have not completed the back of this two-sided puzzle (the double album-both side A & B). I am really hesitant to take the puzzle apart until summer. I'm afraid my grading papers would fall to the wayside.
My advice: establish order from the getgo. I separated all my pieces--the generic pieces; the one with one little pointy part; the one with two pointy parts, etc. I found it extremely maddening and totally therapeutic. I am glad the Beatles did not produce a Black Album!It made a wonderful present and was wonderfully challenging.
