Talk about magic how about a stack of books clinging to the wall with nothing to support them! The secret is the ingenious Invisible Floating Bookshelf, which does its job in the most minimal sense possible. The 5.25" x 6.6" x 7" powder-coated steel unit invisibly grips the cover of a single book (maximum book depth is 10"), which in turn can serve as the base for stacking up to 20 pounds of reading material. This is the perfect solution when you're strapped for space but need to keep your reading material easily accessible. Mounting hardware included.

September 23, 2009: I stumbled upon this invisible bookshelf while wandering my local Barnes & Noble. The more I looked at the shelf, the more I wanted it. I live with 4 other roommates, so space is an issue. I only had a few books I needed to store (and the pile of them on my floor was getting annoying). This bookshelf supplied me with exactly what I needed. After searching for a stud in the wall (which it needs, even though the packaging says "recommends") I nailed the bookshelf into the wall and stacked up some books. It looked great, and held all my books nicely on the wall and off the floor. As an added bonus, it had my roommates guessing as to how those books were kept on the wall. Worth the purchase just to confuse them, but this bookshelf also works great.

March 02, 2009: I was a little skeptical when I bought these shelves originally. They were inexpensive and... oddly simple, and I wasn't sure that they could actually do what they say. BUT THEY DO!! They're wonderful additions to any room, and I plan on buying more. It's especially good for people like me who are too low on wall space for traditional bookshelves. Make sure they're level though, or else it just doesn't look right :)
